Thank You for Supporting Our Bingo Nite Fundraiser!

Thank you for your recent support of our Bingo Nite Fundraiser hosted by Overland Court Senior Living to benefit COMMUNITY CAKES.

Our event was a fabulous success and because of you and your support, we were able to donate $1,941.00 to this deserving local Treasure Valley non-profit.

You can find additional photos and video on Facebook

Jim Temple is a retired World War II Navy veteran who just celebrated his 90th birthday at Overland Court Senior Living and Memory Care in Boise.

Kathy Whipple is a medical assistant at Intermountain Pediatric Clinic who really, really likes to bake.

They’re not related. Born decades apart, they don’t share the same social circles. In fact, the two had never met.

But Community Cakes, a Boise-based nonprofit that provides birthday cakes to people in the Treasure Valley who might not otherwise receive one, brought them together.

A Magical Evening

In celebration of Halloween, we hosted  “A Magical Evening” event complete with professional magician Kip Sherry. We all left asking each other “How did he do that?”

Preparing for Halloween

In preparation for Halloween, our residents had fun making and stuffing treat boxes to hand out to our trick or treaters. We also had an entire week of dress up days which the residents and staff enjoyed participating in.

Living The Dream: Horseback Riding

Today we were “Living The Dream” again!! One of our wonderful residents expressed that she has never ridden a horse, but always wanted to. With the help of Liz from Pierce Park Stables, we were able to make that happen today for her.

A day to remember!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of spotlighting one of our special residents during a “This is Your Life” event. We had many family, friends, staff, and residents present and were honored to have Colonel Powelle and Sgt. Tullener’s Of the Idaho State Police as well. Since Mr Royse was a member of ISP for many years, ISP sent an old and modern squad car to top off this celebration. Mr Royse was thrilled with all the memories the day brought back to him.
