Today, our residents helped out with some local community service work. They were asked to make all the signs that will be used at “Camp LOLO” later this month. They were excited to help and really got into it, especially when the paints came out.
(This camp is an annual bereavement camp for children of the Boise area).
Thank you to the Boise community for donating to the Suitcase Drive we sponsored to support Idaho Foster Care Children. In total, we collected close to 100 new and gently used suitcases, backpacks and duffel bags from May 1-31. WOW!
With this in mind, we will also be sponsoring a Coat Drive during the month of November to support Idaho Foster Care Children. When you begin cleaning out your closets, please keep us in mind for the Coat Drive later this year.
Overland Court is very pleased and grateful of the support from our local community to help these great causes.
WE DID IT!!! We completed our 1st water color course and ended up with some great masterpieces. You’re are never too old to learn something new. Thank you to Becky and Amia at “Brush of Genius” for making this possible. We cant wait to do our next 4 week session.
Our residents are really enjoying their afternoons on the patio watching the chickens play. The chickens are also enjoying sitting by the door watching the residents play.
Say what!? An ice cream potato!? We must go see and taste one. So we did!
Be Adventurous, Be Challenged, Be Inspired, Be Social, we are doing it all! The ladies have really started to blossom into artist as we finish up part 3 of our watercolor class. These masterpieces are really starting to take shape. Stay tuned for photos of completed projects.
Nothing says spring is here than an old fashioned picnic and walk in the park.
Today we stepped out of our comfort zones and tried something new and challenging. We had our first of 4 water color classes taught to us by “Brush of Genius” of Boise. By month end, we will have completed a beautiful country barn scene water color masterpiece.
In this first step we did all the sketching.
What an educational afternoon we had today! Thank you to Idaho Whiskey for the tour and tasting in their local Boise distillery. We had lots of questions about the differences in whiskeys and bourbons, and know we know!
